How we started

New Wave Films, founded by Syafi Halim and Wazif Zamri in July 2020, was born out of a shared vision to ignite a cultural and artistic movement within Brunei's film industry. With a mission to spark an art wave that challenges conventions and redefines local cinema, New Wave Films strives to offer a breath of fresh air through visually compelling and narratively authentic works.

Our goal extends beyond just creating films; we aim to lay the foundation for a thriving and sustainable creative ecosystem. By pushing the boundaries of Bruneian filmmaking and nurturing local talent, we hope to pave the way for the next generation of filmmakers and storytellers.
